Nonno Cein Barbera d'Asti docg

Typology: superior red wine
grape variety: barbera
Alcohol content: 13,5°
Bottle sizes: 75cl
Pairings: very versatile wine, accompanies a whole meal well
Wine obtained from careful vinification, it presents itself with a intense ruby color, tending towards garnet red aging. The scent is characteristic of Barbera, due to the strong personality of the vine: floral impressions are frequent, reminiscent mostly violet, while spicy notes with a prevalence of pepper are quite common. Perception dominates all smells of fruit, first and foremost that of the cherry. On the palate the gustatory structure is supported by 3 hinges: the the first of them is the acidity that in Barbera at a very young age it can be intense, but it fades as time passes; the second is represented by the softness that conceptually it expresses, on a sensorial level, the complement of astringency. Lastly we have the structure or body, or rather that set of sensorial characteristics given to the wine by its constituents, which determine its consistency. This wine is dedicated to the memory of great-grandfather Montaldi Lorenzo nicknamed by everyone “Cein”, born in Fontanile (AT) on 2/11/1883. “Grandpa Cein” lived 86 years leading a life honest and hardworking dedicated to the good of her family and to next. He was a great wine enthusiast, he considered the cellar the ideal place to meet friends and relatives, always in company of a healthy and genuine glass of red wine.
